2018 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir, La Tåche Clones - 13.29% abv.
Light bodied with a soft old-world character. Smooth strawberry like nature with subtle vanilla and baking spices acidity. Mildly tannic with a salivating juicy finish. Goes well with Sexual Chocolate.
2020 Valley Center Grenache - 13.64% abv.
Fresh easy drinking locally grown San Diego Grenache. Light to medium red fruit with a joyful finish. Made in a traditional style with no destemming and full foot stomp. As natural and lovely as they get. Excellent when served with figs, especially in the shower.
2019 Paso Robles Nebbiolo – 13.5% abv.
Beautiful toffee and subtle caramel.Dried lavender and toasted nuts. Mouth ripping tannins and as Italiano as it gets. Molto Bella. Comes off Ferrari leather with just a swipe. Should only get better for the next 20 years or so, after which is probably a crap shoot. 50% New French oak for 2.5 years.
2018 Pine Mt./Cloverdale Cabernet Sauvignon – 14.8% abv.
Rich clove and Eucalyptus on the nose. Dark and strong tannins. Charred French oak with black bing cherry undertones. Long smooth finish. Beat me with a stick Cabernet!!
(Reserve) 2019 Napa/Pope Valley Cabernet Sauvignon – 15.3% abv.
Starts luscious and bright with dark luxardo cherry floating through the air. Mild Cedar notes with mind bending complexity. Slick mid -range tannins. Very easily ageable 20+ years, yet I’d drink it now. Cannot take as free bottle :-(
2019 Alexander Valley Petit Verdot – 15.66% abv.
Deep mouth filling awesomeness like a brothel on a Saturday night. Intense dark plumb jousting with the graphite in a No.2 pencil, then slapping you across the face. The exact opposite of the juiciness as though you just ate a mango with a spoon and no napkin. Think, sucking on the bark of an Aspen tree with a touch of honey then ingesting a spoon of turmeric powder. Gravely Tannic. Goes well with hot sweaty coitus and Kangaroo steaks (which can substituted for venison, lamb, goat, or any other red meat you may have trapped). The coitus cannot be substituted.
2019 Alexander Valley Petite Sirah - 14.2% abv.
Strong hearty intense dark fruit. Full bodied jammy Boysenberry coupled with woodsy slatey background. Medium plus tannins and super long lasting. You’ll taste it next week. Aaaaalot going on here. ...still lingering
Whites and Rose's
Silhouette, NV North Coast Sparkling Wine – 12.5% abv.
An excursion ofrefreshing mini explosions bursting with hints of strawberry fruitful goodness. Semi-dry, slight creaminess. Lollipop like without the sweetness.
2021 Lodi Viognier – 13.6% abv.
Light and luscious waves of Honeysuckle and crisp Asian pear (the kind with the little white mesh basket). Tripping over aphrodisiac scents leads to micro-dosing levels of acid and a full round mouthfeel. This beauty goes down smooth and comes back rough. Keep it down and you will be presently surprised.
2021 Lodi Grenache Carignane Mourvedre Rose (aka Nache bombs) – 11.09% abv.
So smooth, so floral, so refreshing and airy. Low ABV so it’s almost impossible to get a hangover. Middle of the road acid levels, just enough to give you that vibrancy but not so much to make you feel like you’re doing shots of fireball. All in all a very pleasant, pretty, easy drinking wine. Perfect on hot days.
